Project type
Metallic micro-flake pigment and automotive paint on premium linen, woven reconstruction with sprayed linen frill

2025

This work began as an experiment in asymmetry. The gradient was sprayed in a non linear formation, colours applied haphazardly rather than flowing seamlessly. The result felt unresolved, and surface imperfections reinforced that sense of imbalance.
Instead of discarding it, I cut the painting into strips and interlaced them with raw linen. The rainbow like spectrum became fragmented, further denatured through reconstruction. What was once spontaneous became structured, disciplined through the act of weaving.
“Rainbows Reconstructed” holds the tension between disorder and intention. The colour still carries the memory of a rainbow, yet it no longer arcs freely. It is contained, rewoven, transformed into something quieter and more deliberate, where imperfection becomes composition.
